DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE?

Gender diversity should have been a given in our society for a long time but reality often tells a different story. Prejudice, insecurities, and lack of exposure to diverse identities mean that many people, even as adults, struggle to accept themselves or others outside binary norms. What makes this especially problematic is that these insecurities often begin in childhood, when age-appropriate education is missing.

       Task
Develop an interactive concept that fosters understanding and dialogue around gender diversity without moralizing. The experience should feel approachable for all generations—including those who didn’t grow up with these conversations and provide a safe space for curiosity, empathy, and discussion.

     Concept
We created a game that educates, initiates conversations, and encourages reflection without pointing fingers. By using a playful approach, the goal was to normalize gender diversity as an everyday reality and make it tangible and relatable. The concept combines learning elements with collaborative gameplay, creating opportunities for exchange on equal footing and across generations.

     Solution
The game uses simple, accessible mechanics paired with strong visual signals to encourage engagement. Through carefully crafted content, it provides knowledge, sparks conversations, and invites players to question assumptions. By turning a sensitive topic into an inclusive experience, we aim to foster empathy and make diversity visible as an enrichment not an exception.

For the visual language, I collaborated closely with members of the queer community, through personal conversations and an open call on Instagram. The design focuses on the individual: photography was chosen to emphasize personal stories over stereotypes. What people wear or their surroundings are secondary, the narrative comes through in the highlighted statements collected during interviews.

Strong, contrasting colors (red and yellow) serve as guiding elements throughout the game. They symbolize strength, visibility, and the lively discussions the project aims to ignite.
