Beleaf

For this redesign project, I selected the Swiss company Emmi and focused on its plant-based product line, Beleaf. The objective was to create a modern, striking packaging design that would stand out in a market dominated by visually similar dairy alternatives.

       Task
Redesign the Beleaf product line to differentiate it from standard plant-based competitors while maintaining a connection to Emmi’s brand identity. The packaging needed to communicate quality, modernity, and functionality, positioning Beleaf as a premium alternative for everyday and professional use, particularly in coffee culture.

     Concept
The design approach was guided by reduction and clarity, drawing on Emmi’s established brand colors. Instead of the typical visual clichés, such as oats, grains, or green leaves, the concept introduced a bold, unconventional element: a cow as the central motif. This deliberate break from convention emphasizes Emmi’s heritage and unique advantage in the plant-based sector: leveraging decades of dairy expertise to create products that perform like milk, including the ability to foam perfectly for barista use.

     Solution
The final packaging design is clean, minimal, and visually distinctive, supported by a strong color palette and clear typography. By integrating the cow as a symbolic link between tradition and innovation, the design positions Beleaf as both authentic and forward-thinking. This approach strengthens the brand’s identity while offering a clear point of differentiation in a crowded market.
